In an announcement made today in Tokyo, former WCW superstar and Japanese wrestling legend Kensuke Sasaki called time on his professional wrestling career as he celebrated his 28th year in the business.
Sasaki noted his match against his protege Katsuhiko Nakajima at the February 11th DIAMOND RING event at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan was his final match in the business and that there will be no retirement match and that he has nothing left to achieve, no regrets and is proud to have wrestled Nakajima in his final match.
Sasaki noted that he has dealt with injuries for the past few years, the latest being a herniated cervical disc and said that the injuries influenced his decision to retire and that he’s still suffering from the effects of this injury.
Sasaki went on to note that for his future with his family, he can’t go through anything more severe, which is why he’s called time on his career and that he now wants to live his life after professional wrestling.
