Keiji Mutoh was crowned the new GHC Heavyweight Champion during today’s Pro Wrestling NOAH Destination 2021: Back to Budokan event at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan, defeating Go Shiozaki in the main event of the show.

58-year-old Mutoh, also known as The Great Muta, becomes the third man in history after Kensuke Sasaki and Yoshihiro Takayama to win the three major Japanese titles in his career, having previously held New Japan Pro Wrestling’s IWGP Heavyweight Championship and All Japan Pro Wrestling’s Triple Crown Championship.

Today’s event by Pro Wrestling NOAH was the first time that the company ran the infamous Nippon Budokan in just over 10 years.
