In an update on El Desperado issuing a challenge to Jon Moxley for a rematch from their NJPW Music City Mayhem match back in 2022, Moxley issued a response to the challenge and stated that he will be at the NJPW STRONG Independence Day events on July 4th and July 5th at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

Moxley stated that he will be bringing former ROH World Champion Homicide with him for a tag match against El Desperado and a partner of his choosing.
