Japanese wrestling promotion Pro Wrestling NOAH will be undergoing a major shakeup over the coming weeks as the company announced that General Manager Ryu Nakata and NOAH Counselor Haruka Eigen had ties to the Yakuza from 2003 to 2010, working with the Yakuza to sell tickets to the company’s live events.

A lot of people are of the belief that virtually every wrestling, MMA or entertainment company in Japan has Yakuza tie-ins, however if that knowledge becomes public in Japan, it is considered a black mark against the company and is partly a reason of why PRIDE Fighting Championship closed when those revelations became public.

How this will affect the company is unknown, however many are expecting a quick fallout with some members or talent departing.
