Tonight on TNA Impact Wrestling, Jeff Hardy defeated Christopher Daniels to retain the TNA World Championship.  However, after the match,  Hardy was injured at the hands of the Aces and Eights.

Once the match ended, Taz left the broadcast booth and made his way down to the ring.  He served as a distraction, and asked Hardy what he would do once Aces and Eights took over?  While Hardy was facing Taz, a member of Aces and Eights attacked him from behind, with a hammer, to the back of his knee.

On Impact Wrestling’s official website, they acknowledge the injury to Jeff Hardy.  As reported here earlier in the week, Jeff Hardy did not make the trip to the UK  for the current TNA tour, and was replaced by Sting.  They are taping several weeks of TV episodes for Impact while in the UK, and this injury angle will explain why Jeff Hardy will not be seen on TV.
