It is with deep sadness to announce that Emily Dole, best known for her role as part of the original Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW) promotion as Mountain Fiji (Mt. Fiji), has passed away aged 60, with the announcement coming from Patricia Summerland, best known for her role as Sunny The California Girl.

Dole was a 1975 graduate of Buena Park High School, where she threw the shotput over 50 feet, a record that was only achieved by two other California high school girls in the year 2000. She also qualified for two Olympic Trials, finishing fifth in 1976 and seventh in 1980, with both trials won by Maren Seidler when Seidler was on her four trials winning streak.

Dole will be best remembered for her feuds on Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW) series against Matilda The Hun and Big Bad Mama. Her last known appearance on-screen came when she was interviewed and featured being in ill health during the 2012 documentary film GLOW: The Story of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, which has since been made available on Netflix due to the popularity of the streaming service’s return of GLOW under their umbrella.

On behalf of everyone associated with Wrestling-News.Net, we would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Emily “Mountain Fiji” Dole.
