Triple H held a conference call earlier today to promote next Saturday’s WWE NXT Takeover: Toronto live special. WWE’s Adam Hopkins opened the call by reminding everyone that tickets for WrestleMania go on-sale next Friday at 10am before passing things over to Triple H who said that he was excited about the event and talked about how things have changed within NXT with the call ups that they have had over the last 6 months and how they have had to rebuild the Women’s Division. HHH then put over the card and said that he is looking forward to Nakamura vs. Joe and said that Mickie James was not a consolation prize and that she is who they went after while the other women n NXT continue to percolate. HHH said that The Revival vs. Gargano & Ciampa could be a match of the year candidate, while Roode vs. Dillinger will be great and since they are from Toronto, it should be crazy. HHH then put over the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic finals and said that should be a great match and put over 205 Live stating that he will be open to questions about the show, when the opportunity arises shortly and that he is really looking forward to 205 Live. HHH then added that they will have an All Access at the Performance Center on November 14th before opening the call up to questions.

The first caller asked how tough it will be to make a new show in 205 Live stand out, to which Triple H said that the talent and style will make it distinctive and said that you will get to see them showcase their talent there and referenced the Cruiserweight Classic and said that he would try and give it the feel that it had. HHH said that WWE does have a lot of programming for use and said that it is hard for him as an executive to watch all of the product, so it is a lot and said that the best part of the WWE Network is that you can watch it when you want to and said that the beauty of the WWE Network is that people can watch what they want and that is the trend now overall in television.

The next caller asked about the state of touring with NXT and referenced the recent cancellation and asked about how it felt to lose Finn Bálor and Bayley to the main roster and if that has affected tours and business. Triple H said that he feels that the shows are still strong and part of the secret source is the constant change and said that sure, Australia would like to see Bayley and Bálor, but they also want to see Joe and Nakamura and said that they have to be constantly growing and changing and evolving and said that he is always watching the talent and making sure that they have the talent for national and local tours. The same caller then asked what led to the New Zealand events being cancelled, to which Triple H said that there were a few factors, noting that they are working with a group in Australia and that they got together and decided that the changes made sense.

The next caller asked about the “Ten” movement for Tye Dillinger and what will grow it. Triple H said that he thinks that building a character is about a lot of things and not just one chant and said that the fans love being a part of the show in NXT, but it also takes momentum to take things to the next level. The same caller then asked about what led to the events in Canada back in September being cancelled. Triple H said that he hated cancelling those events, but that there are other factors involved than just NXT and once it became an option to make the Survivor Series a weekend opportunity, they had to move the show and said that it doesn’t mean that they don’t want to run those cities, but that he just wanted to give the fans in the area a bigger show and for those that can’t go next week, he promises that they will be back to those venues.

The next caller asked about the chances that WWE NXT television could be live more often, to which Triple H said that they are always doing fan surveys to see what people want and that they want to make sure that they are giving them what they want, when they want it and said that they are open to WWE NXT being live more often and that it all depends on what the fan base wants and what they are looking for. Triple H said that at this time, there is no plan to go live with the TV show, but sometimes decision in WWE happen very quickly and if the feedback comes back that the people want it, they will see if they can make it happen. The same caller then asked about Shawn Michaels’ role at the WWE Performance Center. Triple H said that he meant to address this earlier and said that Shawn Michaels is not the head coach, as Matt Bloom is and will continue to be. Triple H put over the job Bloom is doing and said that he doesn’t know where the rumors started about Shawn and was then told that it was Kevin Nash and said that Nash is not always accurate. Triple H said that he did not want to talk about Shawn’s life, but said that there is a plan to have Shawn being part of the WWE Performance Center and said that there is a lot that he can do and that Shawn understands all of the aspects that go into being a top guy and to him, that is the thing that he thinks Shawn will be excellent at. Triple H said that it will be a fluid process and will be determined after he gets there and that they will see as it goes on and said that if he had to pick what would be best for him, it would be to have him be the one who puts the polish on a talent to make them a star.

The final caller asked what Triple H is most proud of from the year 2016. Triple H said that as a brand, to say that they created and elevated all of the talents, he thinks that it is 16, all at once to the main roster and yet continued to put out a product that people enjoyed and at the same level of content that they had been delivering is one. Triple H said that he likes to think what would have happened if the main roster had lost 16 talents and that it makes him proud that people have stepped up and are now rising and that building new talent is a massive team effort and not easy to do and talked about all the talents working as a team, while veterans like Eric Young have stepped in and helped teach younger talent and said that losing those talents and still continuing to grow with great shows, everyone should be proud and added that the fan base has been great too during that transition. Triple H then thanked everyone for coming and apologized for being late on the call, but noted that he is very excited for the show in Canada and said that once again, he wants to put on a show next Saturday night that will raise the bar for the talent at WWE Survivor Series.
