Following on from Alberto del Rio claiming in an interview published last week in Fighting Spirit Magazine in the United Kingdom that it was not uncommon for people in power in the WWE to openly state racial remarks around the company’s employees under the guise of jokes, former WWE Superstar Luis Alvirde, who played the original Sin Cara character has also made the allegations.
Alvirde, now working under the name of Myzteziz stated in an interview on Tuesday with MedioTiempo that he was subjected to a lot of racism behind the scenes in the WWE and that the bosses in the company even made racial remarks, but did not indicate that he was subjected to racism from the WWE locker room and said that he feels it created a bad environment for minorities, but is not blaming it as the reason he didn’t succeed in the WWE.
Alvirde noted that despite the racism he experienced in the WWE, he wouldn’t rule out a return to the company if it happened and considers wrestling in the United States an honor and that after going through the experience of joining WWE and being moved up to the main roster so quickly that he knows what to expect.
