In an update on the announcement earlier today that Bill DeMott was stepping down as the head trainer for WWE NXT, former WWE NXT creative assistant Rob Naylor commented on the allegations against DeMott during an interview with Wrestling Observer Radio.
In regards to the injuries to WWE NXT talent, Naylor said that there was a point in which it got completely out of control and that he was responsible for the injury report every Monday, meaning he got a first-hand account of the situation, but said that things eventually calmed down. Naylor then discussed the story in which Bill DeMott mocked the death of Davey Boy Smith, stating that it was said in front of 20-25 people and said that he himself had personally spoken out about things and like many others, he was released within a month of voicing his concerns and said that Triple H addressed the situaton at least once.
Naylor said that Triple H wanted him to find him a room and that he didn’t look happy and noted that finding an empty room on a class day was difficult, so he found an empty closet for Triple H to address Bill DeMott in and said that he was never personally asked about the letters or the accusations, despite him constantly being in the building. Naylor also said that while he had not heard about the racial slurs that are being reported, the people that he remains in contact with were surprised that DeMott had not been replaced for his actions.
