Former wrestler and iconic Championship belt maker Reggie Parks has passed away at the age of 87, with the news shared by professional wrestling podcast host Conrad Thompson.
Parks, who got his start in the wrestling business under the tutelage of the legendary Stu Hart in his home province of Alberta, Canada was a 8-time AWA Midwest Tag Team Champion, two-time NWA World Tag Team Champion and also held the NWA Western States Tag Team Championship, the NWA International Heavyweight Championship and the NWA Central States Heavyweight Championship.
Parks became synonymous in the wrestling business with his legendary Championship belt designs that still live on to this very day, with the WWF “Winged Eagle” Championship used between early 1988 to WrestleMania 14 in 1998 being perhaps his most famous creation. Parks also designed the “Ten Pounds Of Gold” NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship belt and titles for Japanese wrestling companies, most notably the IWGP Heavyweight Championship prior to the new version being revealed.
On behalf of Wrestling-News.Net, we would like to extend our condolences to the family, friends and fans of Reggie Parks.
