Former Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling star Hideki Hosaka, a long-time rival and tag team partner of Atsushi Onita, passed away this morning at the age of 49 following a battle with cancer, according to a report from Yahoo Japan.

Hosaka was an amateur wrestler in high school and during his wrestling career was a one-time FMW Independent World Junior Heavyweight Champion, a two-time FMW World Street Fight 6 Man Tag Team Champion, once with Atsushi Onita & Masato Tanaka and another time with Sean Guinness (aka Sean Maxer) & Atsushi Onita. Hosaka was also a three-time WEW Hardcore Tag Team Champion with Mammoth Sasaki/Yoshinori.

During his professional wrestling career, Hosaka made appearances for W*ING (Wrestling International New Generations), All Japan Pro Wrestling, BattleARTS, Pro Wrestling ZERO1 and more.
