New Japan Pro Wrestling and STARDOM crowned the first-ever IWGP Women’s Champion during today’s NJPW x STARDOM Historic X-Over event at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

In the main event of the show, KAIRI (fka Kairi Sane in WWE) defeated Mayu Iwatani to become the first-ever Champion and will make her first title defense as part of the NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 event on January 4th, 2023.
