Following his release from the WWE prior to WrestleMania 27 earlier this year, former WWE United States Champion and road agent, Dave “Fit” Finlay has been appearing at various independent wrestling events, including EVOLVE Wrestling, DREAMWAVE and has recently signed a deal with UK promotion Varsity Pro Wrestling, who will debut in the United Kingdom on My Channel on Sky TV Channel 219 this December, however Finlay could have rejected the advances of the independent scene and made the jump to TNA Wrestling, according to a recent interview.
Speaking to The UK Sun, Finlay commented on recently turning down an offer from TNA Wrestling, noting that the company got in touch with him about joining the promotion and he listened the offers, but the offer on the table wasn’t right and wasn’t enough to persuade him to sign up with the company, noting that it’s not his first day in the business and that he has been in professional wrestling for 37 years and one thing he has learned is that you can’t sell yourself cheaply to any promotion.
Regarding his WWE departure and a possible return to the company down the line, Finlay noted that he doesn’t know if he will be back, however he hopes he will be in due time as he has a lot of friends in the company, citing John Laurinaitis as a good friend. Finlay noted that he does love the WWE scene and misses it tremendously, however he’s not going to curl into a ball about not being there anymore, stating that he’s just got to get on with his life and that there are no hard feelings regarding his release earlier this year, stating that he takes full responsibility for what happened.
