The STARDOM promotion in Japan confirmed during today’s 12th Goddesses Of STARDOM Tag League Day 1 event at the Arena Tachikawa Tachihi in Tachikawa, Tokyo, Japan that the finals of the IWGP Women’s Championship Tournament will see KAIRI (fka Kairi Sane) face off against Mayu Iwatani to crown the first-ever Champion.

KAIRI defeated “The Alpha Female” Jazzy Gabert to advance to the final, while Iwatani emerged victorious in her match against Utami Hayashishita. The winner of that match will make the first title defense at the NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 event on January 4th, 2023.

The updated lineup for the NJPW x STARDOM Historic X-Over event on November 20th is below:

— KAIRI vs. Mayu Iwatani to determine the first-ever IWGP Women’s Champion.

— “Filthy” Tom Lawlor & Syuri vs. Zack Sabre Jr. & Giulia.
