In a post on his official Instagram account, WWE superstar Erik noted that he recently underwent C6/C7 neck fusion surgery, thanking doctors and WWE, noting that the surgery was successful and that his recovery process begins now.

The post reads, “I cannot express the proper gratitude and thankfulness to the amazing Dr Cordover and his incredible staff at @andrews_sports_medicine and St Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL and to @wwe for always making sure I have the best care possible. C6 / C7 fusion surgery was successful and recovery begins now. I’m excited for all the possibilities once my cybernetic upgrades come fully online.”

Erik last appeared on the September 14th episode of WWE Main Event, which was taped on September 11th, and was originally scheduled to appear on the September 18th episode of WWE RAW, but it was noted that he was not cleared for in-ring action, with WWE RAW commentator Wade Barrett revealing on the October 2nd episode of WWE RAW that Erik would be out for the foreseeable future.
