Former WWE NXT Champion Drew McIntyre took to his Twitter account today to reveal that he did indeed suffer an injury during the recent WWE NXT Takeover: War Games special that will put him out of action until 2018.
The word making the rounds is that Drew tore his bicep and that while he is currently rehabbing it, with surgery unknown at this time, he is pushing to return in late March, just in time for the WWE NXT Takeover event prior to the WrestleMania 34 pay-per-view, the latter of which takes place on Sunday, April 8th, 2018.
Unfortunately I did suffer an injury during my title defense at TakeOver. I’ve dealt with setbacks before. The reality is, I always come back better…There's a scary thought for whomever is NXT champion come 2018… #TickTock
