WWE Tag Team Champions DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) made a surprise appearance during Thursday’s AIW Against The World 2024 event at the Temple Live in Cleveland, Ohio.

Johnny Gargano came out to begin the surprise appearance, stating that Cleveland was his hometown, and that AIW is his home independent wrestling promotion before introducing Ciampa, who came out to his old “Psycho Killer” theme song from his independent wrestling days.

DIY put over WWE SmackDown and WWE SummerSlam this weekend in the city, with Gargano stating that he had his last independent show in AIW, and promised himself that he would one day wrestle at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse which he will do tomorrow during SmackDown.

Ciampa put over the promotion and independent wrestling, stating that places like AIW are where guys like them got their start in the business. Gargano said that SummerSlam in 1996 in Cleveland is what made him want to be a professional wrestler and told the crowd to enjoy the biggest pro wrestling weekend in Cleveland history.
