In an update on WWE debuting the 24/7 Championship this week, the creation of the title was an effort from the company to appease the USA Network who had bee complaining of ratings declining in third hour, according to a report from Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer.

The report notes that USA Network has sent WWE all kinds of ideas of late, which were said to be terrible, however the creation of the 24/7 Championship was the best of their ideas, which Vince McMahon liked, and decided to go ahead with that idea.
