Speaking through his official Twitter account, independent wrestling star Davey Richards noted that his time with Ring of Honor may possibly be coming to an end, signalling that he could be offered a WWE developmental deal after himself and Eddie Edwards worked last night’s WWE NXT tapings as The American Pitbulls (John Cahill & Eric Philbin), losing to WWE NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension (Konnor O’Brian & Rick Viktor).
@ringofhonor our time may possibly be coming to end. In my heart I will always and proudly be an “ROH GUY”. I’m forever in debt to you.

Meanwhile, Rob Feinstein of RF Video, who is involved in producing iPPV’s for several independent promotions including Combat Zone Wrestling, House Of Hardcore, Family Wrestling Entertainment and many more noted on his Facebook page that both are not actually signed to the company as of writing and are simply working several NXT shows on a trial basis, while fulfilling their prior dates outside of the company including dates in Japan and the ROH Final Battle 2013 event.
Feinstein noted that if Richards & Edwards sign WWE deals, the company want to keep the two together as a tag team on NXT and then call them up to the SmackDown side of things at some point in 2014, while also seeing how they get over as a tag team on television, as 2014 is slated to be a big year for tag team wrestling in the company.
Feinstein also notes that not only was William Regal pushing for the duo to be signed, but so was Joey Mercury, as both pushed Triple H to give them another chance. While Regal has been vocal in the past about names that should be signed to WWE deals, this is said to be the first time that Joey Mercury’s name has been mentioned as someone pushing the company to sign certain talents.
