Mid South Wrestling Legends April 4th Fanfest Announces Ticket Information
Plus Jim Cornette and Jerry Stubbs have been added to the Fanfest Roster
New Orleans, LA – Today, Mid-South Wrestling Fanfest promoter Matt Riviera announced ticket information and the addition of Jim Cornette and “Mr. Olympia” Jerry Stubbs to the line-up of talent slated to participate in the Fanfest event on Friday, April 4th. The Fanfest event will be take place at the Sigur Center, Chalmette, LA, located approximately six miles from New Orleans.
The day of festivities honoring the stars of Mid South Wrestling kicks-off with an early entry for Platinum VIP pass holders at 10:00 a.m. followed by photos sessions, autographs and Q and A sessions throughout the day. At 5:00 p.m. there will be a Cajun Style dinner for the stars and their fans. The evening then will feature the “Battle Lines” wrestling event. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and bell time is 7:30 p.m. The event will feature the wrestling stars of Mid South Wrestling and of today.
Mickie James vs. Angelina Love will be the featured women’s match of the evening with the inaugural JYD Memorial Cup Battle Royal featuring wrestlers from at least eight different wrestling organizations. Also signed to wrestle at “Battle Lines”: Tommy Dreamer, Chris Adonis (formerly known as Chris Masters), Lance Hoyt, “The Pope” Elijah Burke and others to be announced at a later date.
“The event is coming together great,” stated promoter Matt Riviera. “I am thrilled to have legends of the caliber of Jim Cornette and Jerry Stubbs committing to participate in the Fanfest. Cornette was one of the stars of Mid South that helped it gain a cult-like following in the South with his introduction of the tag team “The Midnight Express” which featured Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey. Stubbs was one of the most popular stars of Mid South Wrestling throughout the 1980’s.”
Cornette is one of the most respected wrestling managers of the past 30 years and is never known to be at a loss for words. At Fanfest, for the first time ever, Jim Cornette will host a Q&A session with Bobby Eaton, Dennis Condrey, Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson in which they will answer the fans’ questions regarding their legendary 30 year rivalry. They will be joined by wrestling great Bill “Superstar” Dundee, who was Mid-South’s matchmaker in 1984 and actually made the first match between the Expresses.
Cornette and Stubbs will join the already announced list of Mid South Legends; Bobby Eaton, Dennis Condrey, Bill Dundee, Ricky Morton, Robert Gibson, Mr. Wrestling II, Danny Hodge, Bushwacker Luke, Porkchop Cash and Kamala. More additions to the Legends participating will be made over the next several weeks.
Tickets will be available this Friday, December 6th at noon at midsouthlegends.com for the Fanfest at the historic home of Mid South Wrestling, The Sigur Center. All Inclusive tickets for the Fanfest and the “Battle Lines” wrestling event are $149 for the Platinum VIP Access and $99 for the Gold VIP Access. Entry to the Fanfest event only is $19.
Tickets for the April 4th “Battle Lines” live wrestling event, 7:30 p.m., will be available this Friday, December 6th at noon at midsouthlegends.com and at noon Friday, December 13th at the Sigur Center, Chalmette, LA Box Office during office hours. Ticket prices for “Battle Lines” are $30 for ringside floor seats and $15 for balcony seats.
