UFC President Dana White was a guest on UFC Tonight on FOX Sports 1 last night and when asked about CM Punk’s future with the mixed martial arts organization, noted that it was not likely that Punk would fight for the second time in UFC following his loss to Mickey Gall at UFC 203, stating “Is CM Punk going to be a guy who is going to stay in the UFC and continue to fight? Probably not, but he wanted to try it. I like the guy. I respect the guy. He wanted to fight in the UFC. He wanted to do it. He trained for two years, and he did it.”
Punk noted in the UFC 203 post-fight press conference that he had intended to continue fighting and was extremely upset that he had lost in the manner that he did. Punk was in attendance at the New York Comic Con over the weekend and noted that he was back up to 200lbs after fighting at UFC 203 at 170lbs.
