According to a report from Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting, WWE RAW superstar and current WWE Champion, CM Punk,will not be escorting Chael Sonnen to the octagon for Sonnen’s fight against Mark Munoz on January 28th for the UFC On FOX 2 show at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Punk noted to MMAFighting that WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon decided against the idea of allowing Punk to walk out to the cage with Sonnen just one day prior to the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

It will be interesting to see if Sonnen has a back-up plan as to who will escort him to the cage, or whether he goes in without any escort. UFC On FOX 2 is headlined by Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis with Chael Sonnen vs. Mark Munoz serving as the co-main event of the evening.
