CHIKARA Pro Wrestling returned to iPPV on June 2nd, 2012 from the Trocadero in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with their Chikarasaurus Rex: How To Hatch A Dinosaur iPPV. Your announcers for this evening are Bryce Remsburg and Leonard Chikarason. Prior to the match the announcers remind us that Fire Ant was taken out in the iPPV pre-show by GEKIDO and that Eddie Kingston has stated that the match will go on, if it has to be 5vs4 or if his team finds a new tag partner.

Most Devious Entity In CHIKARA – UltraMantis Black vs. Ophidian
Ophidian comes out to the ring debuting a new look, while UMB is out to a huge ovation to kick off the show. Both men immediately trade forearms and then chops as UltraMantis sends Ophidian to the corner and then stomps on him and hits a DDT for a 2 count. Both men trade back and forth as UltraMantis hits a slam for another two count. UltraMantis continues the offence before the match then goes to the floor as UltraMantis sends Ophidian into the guardrails. Ophidian chops UltraMantis and gets the upper hand as he hits an uppercut and a bulldog and then a leg drop from the apron. Ophidian continues the assault and then chokes UMB with his sash. Ophidian hits an enziguri for a two count. Ophidian goes to the corner again but UMB hits a snake eyes into the top turnbuckle.

Ophidian gets the upper hand again and hits forearms followed by elbows to the chest of UMB and then goes up top, only to be caught by UMP who hits the ropes. UMB hits a butterfly suplex as both men end up on the mat. UMB hits an Ocean Cyclone for a two count. UMB signals for the Praying Mantis Bomb, but Ophidian blocks it and UMB instead hits a Michinoku Driver for a two count. Both men trade back and forth with Ophidian getting the upper hand and going up top to hit a double knee to the chest of UMB for a two count. Ophidian goes up and hits another for another two count. Ophidian runs to the corner with a flying knee and misses as UMB gets a rollup for a two count. Ophidian goes under the ring and brings UMB’s staff into the ring and spits red mist in UMB’s face behind the referee’s back only for a two count. UltraMantis manages to get up and hits the Praying Mantis Bomb for the win.

Loser Leaves Town Match – The Throwbacks (Dasher Hatfield and “Mr. Touchdown” Mark Angelosetti) vs. Colt Cabana and Mixed Martial Archie
Sugar Dunkerton joins the commentary for this match. Touchdown and MMA start it off before its taken to the floor and Dasher is tagged in. MMA hits a leg kick and then another which Dasher blocks and gets Archie down. Dasher on the offence before MMA tries a triangle choke as Dasher gets to the ropes. Colt is tagged in and gets a two count following a rollup. Dasher whips Colt, who reverses and gets another rollup for a two count. Cabana hits a side head lock and a hammer lock and tags MMA back in and takes down Dasher with some ground and pound. MMA goes after Touchdown and punches him around the ringside area. Touchdown and Archie go to the stage as Touchdown hits a spinebuster and takes out Archie. Cabana gets Touchdown back in the ring and hits a moonsault on Touchdown and Dasher and then continues his offence. Colt then whips both men into the corner but misses the flying apple as The Throwbacks hit a high-low combo for a two count. Touchdown hits a shoulder in the corner, followed by a rollup for a two count. Colt misses a splash to the corner and Touchdown hits another rollup for a two.

Dasher is back in the ring and attacks Cabana and hits a leg drop for a 2. Dasher hits a surfboard as Touchdown comes in and hits a bulldog for a two count. Colt gets in little offence before Touchdown hits a knee to the back for a two count. Dasher is tagged in and continues the offence on Cabana who is looking for a tag but has no partner. Cabana whipped into the corner as Dasher charges but Cabana trips him. Touchdown makes the tag and hits a running shoulder block into the corner. Cabana hits chops on Dasher and Touchdown, but the Throwbacks manage to get the upper hand and hit Colt with a wheelbarrow stunner for a two count. Dasher hits an elbow on Colt in the corner, followed by a running shoulder from Touchdown. Colt punches Dasher on the ring apron and goes up top, however Touchdown knocks both men off the top as Sugar and Leonard question why Touchdown done that right there. The drum beats and Archibald Peck is out to the ring as Touchdown freaks out. Peck gets the tag and hits a flying shoulder on Touchdown. Both men return to their feet as Touchdown attempts an Irish whip, which Peck reverses and hits a running back elbow into the corner followed by a slam for a two count. Peck goes to the top turnbuckle but Veronica comes to the stage. Touchdown gets the upper hand and sets himself for the charge into the corner but Colt hits the flying apple and locks him in the Billy Goat’s Curse, however Dasher hits Cabana who breaks the hold. Dasher then hits a baseball slide and sends Cabana to the outside. Veronica comes in and drops her baton in the ring as both men have a tug of war before Dasher takes it. Touchdown hits Peck with his helmet and gets the rollup for the 3.

Winners: The Throwbacks (Dasher Hatfield and “Mr. Touchdown” Mark Angelosetti). As a result, Archibald Peck must leave town. Following the match Veronica stood between Touchdown and Peck and kissed Touchdown as Peck leaves the ring.

Ladder Match – Gran Akuma vs. Icarus
Special Guest Referee: Greg Iron
The match quickly gets underway as Akuma runs Icarus into the corner as he attempts to take off his jacket. Akuma hits a snapmare followed by a kick to the back and chokes Icarus with his own jacket and hits another snapmare followed by a running elbow in the corner and a forearm to Icarus’ back. Akuma then goes for the ladder as Icarus is still down. Akuma puts the ladder on Icarus’ chest, however he picks it up and sends it into the face of Akuma and hits a suplex and rolls through hitting a dropkick. Icarus now on the offence as he chokes Akuma and hits a snapmare. Greg makes the count as Icarus questions why he done that and then continues his offence choking Akuma in the ring ropes. The action goes to the floor and then returns to the ring as Icarus hits a ladder to the midsection of Akuma and puts the ladder on Akuma’s back as he hits a slingshot senton on the ladder. Icarus then slams Akuma on the ladder and hits a leg drop and drops the ladder on Akuma’s back. Akuma thrown into the turnbuckles and then placed on the top turnbuckle as Icarus put the ladder against him and drop kicks the ladder into Akuma, however the ladder hits the turnbuckles and bounces back into Icarus. Icarus attempts to whip Akuma into the ladder, however Akuma reverses and hits chops. Akuma hits a gutbuster and then a powerbomb into the ladder as both men are down. Akuma goes up to get the contract above the ring, however Icarus hits a German suplex as both men are down again. Awesome so far.

Icarus now climbs the ladder, however Akuma grabs his leg. Icarus hits a hurricanrana, followed by a spear and then puts the ladder in the corner and hits a reverse atomic drop. Icarus attempts a leg kick, however Akuma blocks it and throws Icarus into the ladder and hits a German suplex. Akuma heads to the back and brings in a bigger ladder. Icarus gets the upper hand and hits a leg drop onto the ladder, that smacks Akuma in the face. Akuma goes down but gets back in the ring as Icarus has the new ladder setup in the corner. Icarus hits a Death Valley Driver into the ladder as it falls on him. Icarus makes his way up the ladder, however Akuma pulls it from under him as he falls to the mat. Akuma now hits a Death Valley Driver onto the ladder and climbs the ladder hitting a frog splash. FIST (Chuck Taylor and Johnny Gargano) come out of nowhere and attack Greg Iron and set up a table. Taylor and Gargano put Akuma on the table as Icarus climbs the ladder, however Iron now has a chain and runs off FIST. Akuma gets the upper hand and climbs the ladder, hitting a powerbomb on Icarus through the table and then climbs up and gets the contract.

Winner: Gran Akuma.

3-on-2 Intergender Handicap Match – Saturyne and Sara del Rey vs. The Batiri (Kobald, Kodama and Obariyon)
The Batiri debate which one will start the match as Del Rey gets fed up and charges Kobald with a boot, followed by Saturyne hitting a cross body on Kobald and Obariyon. Saturyne then attacks Kobald as Del Rey hits him with a cannonball. Both women hit sunset flips for a two count. Both women continue the double team assault on Kobald as Del Rey hits him with a headbutt. Saturyne is knocked off the apron to the floor as all 3 men attack Del Rey in the ring. Kobald with a spear for a two count, followed by all three men choking Del Rey in the ropes. Obariyon hits Del Rey with a boot to the head for a two count. Both back to their feet as Obariyon hits a forearm and whips Del Rey to the turnbuckles. Kodama is now in and begins choking Del Rey in the ropes. Kobald is back in and kicks Del Rey and hits a snapmare and an elbow drop followed by a springboard splash for a two count.

Kobald chokes Del Rey in the corner as she fights her way out. Del Rey attacks Kodama and Obariyon on the apron as Kobald charges with a shoulder but misses and hits the ring post. Del Rey goes to the apron and hits a cannonball to the floor. How Del Rey hasn’t been signed to the WWE is beyond me, as anyone male or female, she gives them a great match. Anyways, back to the action as Saturyne hits a springboard crossbody onto all Batiri members. Delirious is shown from the back coming to the ring as he forces The Batiri to leave the ring as Kobald sends Saturyne into the ropes. Back in the ring and Saturyne hits a bulldog for a 2 count as Kodama and Obariyon break it up. Obariyon and Kodama attack Saturyne in the corner as Kodama gets a two count and tells Obariyon to go to the top rope, however Del Rey hits a German suplex on Kodama and kicks Obariyon and sets up for a superplex off the turnbuckles, however Obariyon blocks her and hits her with numerous kicks to the midsection and the head. Del Rey manages to get the upperhand and attempts the Royal Butterfly, however Delirious comes in and hits Saturyne with a chokeslam and then Del Rey with a drop toe hold, before hitting the Panic Attack on Del Rey as the fans boo him out of the building. The match is stopped as the ref calls for the bell.

Winners: Sara del Rey and Saturyne via disqualification. Following the match Delirious kissed all three Batiri members on the forehead and left the ring. There’s a brief intermission as Bryce Remsburg takes up his senior referee role with UltraMantis Black joining Leonard Chikarason at the announce table.

Mask vs. Hair Match – Tim Donst vs. Hallowicked
Both men lockup before Hallowicked hits Donst with forearms and elbows. Donst attempts a clothesline but misses as Hallowicked hits a hurricanrana and a running boot to the head of Donst. The match heads to the outside and then back in the ring as Hallowicked hits Donst with shoulders in the corner and attempts a snapmare off the turnbuckles, however Donst blocks and hits an STO followed by forearms, an Irish whip and a clothesline. Donst then hits a snapmare and a rear chin lock. Donst now has Hallowicked in a body scissors before sending Hallowicked to the floor and hitting a suicide dive. Donst puts Hallowicked on the ropes and hits him with an elbow and chokes him. Both men now going back and forth trading blows as Hallowicked gets the advantage and hits a kick to Donst’s head followed by a snapmare from the turnbuckles for a two count. Hallowicked attempts the Go To Sleepy Hollow for a two count. Both men back up as Donst attempts the From Donst Til’ Dawn but Hallowicked gets to the ropes. Donst and Hallowicked on the ring apron as Donst tries a German suplex, however Hallowicked holds his ground as Donst falls to the floor. Donst has both of the Young Lions Cups and stands in the ring with them, before putting them down and hitting Hallowicked. Hallowicked gets the upperhand as the match goes to the floor. Back in the ring and Hallowicked attempts an enziguri, however Donst counters and hits a powerbomb. Donst continues the offence and puts Hallowicked on the top rope. Hallowicked hits some forearms and a headbutt and then a sitout powerbomb for a two count.

Hallowicked whips Donst, who pulls the ref in the way. Hallowicked applies the CHIKARA Special as Donst taps, however the ref is out. Hallowicked goes for the ref as Donst gets a steel chair. Hallowicked picks up the YLC as Donst drops the chair and Hallowicked tosses him the cup. Hallowicked hits a boot to Donst’s head. Hallowicked tries to help the ref, however Donst hits a low kick and wraps the shoelace around Hallowicked’s neck and chokes him out. Tim Donst’s hand is raised as the winner, however he drops the shoelace which the referee spots and restarts the match. Hallowicked hits a boot to the head and applies a submission as Donst taps out.

Winner: Hallowicked. Following the match Donst’s hair is cut.

10-Man Warfare – Eddie Kingston, Jigsaw and The Colony (Fire Ant, Soldier Ant and Green Ant) vs. GEKIDO (17, The Shard, assailANT, deviANT and combatANT)
Before the match the announcers remind us that Fire Ant was taken out earlier tonight and as things stand its 5v4. The match starts off with all 9 men brawling with the faces getting the upper hand. 17 and Jigsaw begin inside the ring. Jigsaw gets the upper hand, however 17 quickly pushes him off. Mike Quackenbush is out to a HUGE and I mean HUGE ovation as the man to replace Fire Ant. All 10 men now brawling inside the ring. Soldier Ant and combatANT get the actual match underway, as Soldier Ant is tripped with The Shard hitting him with a splash. The Shard sends Soldier Ant to the corner as assailANT tags in and hits Soldier with a suplex. combatANT is tagged back in and hits Soldier with a knee and a belly-to-back suplex for a two count. deviANT is in and hits a snapmare and tries to unmask Soldier, however Jigsaw and Green Ant break it up. assailANT is back in and hits Soldier with a slam and a leaping leg drop before tagging in 17 who hits a forearm and tags in deviANT. Great tag work here so far from the heels, in, attack and then out. deviANT hits a kick to Soldier and applies an abdominal stretch and again tries to unmask Soldier, who returns the favour as all 10 men start brawling. 17 is now in and kicks Soldier and hits a Russian leg sweep, again going for the mask. Jigsaw comes in and kicks 17, as combatANT gets tagged in and hits a European uppercut. The Shard gets in and hits a cross body, however Soldier raises his knees. Kingston is now in the ring.

The Shard hits Kingston with a kick, however Kingston hits a belly-to-back suplex. assailANT and Green Ant are now in the ring brawling, as combatANT gets in and attacks Green for a two count. deviANT in now and hits a flying boot to Soldier, as Quack hits a sunset flip on 17, this is getting hectic. Back inside the ring Kingston hits a belly-to-back suplex on assailANT, who gets up and hits a Death Valley Driver on Kingston. Jigsaw hits combatANT with an elbow and then double stomps assailANT. Out of nowhere Green Ant hits a cross body from the balcony, yes the friggin’ balcony!!! onto GEKIDO. Back inside the ring 17 hits a rollup on Jigsaw and then attempts a crossface which Soldier breaks up. Everyone now back in the ring as Quackenbush and Green Ant stop GEKIDO taking off Soldier’s mask. Jigsaw goes up on Quack’s shoulders and then Soldier Ant hits the Antapult on 17. Soldier Ant hits the CHIKARA Special as 17 taps out.

Winners: Eddie Kingston, Jigsaw, Mike Quackenbush, Green Ant and Soldier Ant.

Los Campeonatos de Parejas – FIST (Chuck Taylor and Johnny Gargano) (c) vs. The Young Bucks (Nick and Matt Jackson) in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match
This is the main event of the evening as Gargano and Matt start the match off as both men on the offence as Chuck and Nick are now in the ring as Chuck hits an overhead belly-to-belly followed by kicks to the midsection of Nick. Bucks now on the offence as they hit a tandem dropkick and isolate Chuck. Taylor now on the outside as Gargano is in, but stopped by the Bucks who hit a backbreaker on Gargano for a two count. Gargano gains some advantage and hits a kick to Matt and tags in Chuck who continues the beatdown. FIST hit a double elbow on Matt and dance before continuing the attack. Taylor gets a YB shirt and chokes Matt behind the referee’s back. Matt attempts to fire back, however FIST continue the attack and get a two count. Matt gets on the offence and rolls up Chuck Taylor from out of nowhere and puts Young Bucks up 1-0. Fall 2 immediately begins as FIST beatdown on Matt. Nick gets the tag and chokes Gargano with his shirt as Gargano attempts to attack, which sees Nick attack him from the outside and accidentally kick Matt.

Taylor sends the Bucks to the outside and hits a dive onto them. Taylor then kissed a young boy on the forehead after the dive, as the commentators laughed. Taylor rolls up Matt and the match is tied at 1-1. The third fall starts as Matt attacks Chuck. Both teams back and forth as Gargano nails a spear on Matt and then hits a dive on Nick through the ropes. FIST hit the tandem ace crusher on Matt for a two count. Bucks get the upper hand and hit a combo on FIST getting a two count. Bucks with superkicks on FIST, however Gargano blocks one and hits a clothesline on Nick as both men then battled to the apron. Chuck runs in and attacks Nick, however Matt runs in and hits Gargano with a DDT. Chuck and Matt are inside the ring as Chuck applies a half-crab submission as the crowd chants for Matt to tap. Nick runs in and hits a kick to the back of Chuck and Bucks went for More Bang for your Buck, which Chuck countered. Johnny throws Nick into Matt as FIST hit combo after combo for a two count. Gargano and Nick on the outside as Matt and Chuck are on the inside. Matt nails Chuck with the belt, but Chuck kicks out at two. Spiked tombstone piledriver from the Bucks for two, this is awesome. Gargano goes on the attack, but the Bucks stop him with a tandem superkick and hit the More Bang for your Buck for the win.

Winners: New Los Campeonatos de Parejas The Young Bucks.

Overall from top to bottom this was an awesome card. I really loved the Los Campeonatos de Parejas match as well as the ladder match that was all out awesome. The spot from Green Ant jumping off the balcony has to be seen, would definitely recommend anyone to catch the replay or the DVD when it is released tomorrow.
