Cauliflower Alley Club 2012 Reunion—Psychiatrist / Pro Wrestling Psychology Expert Dr. David Reiss—Seminars with Pro Wrestlers Vance Nevada, and Angelina Altishin and Las Vegas attorney / community leader Lauri Thompson April 16-18 in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV, April 10, 2012— Noted psychiatrist and pro wrestling psychology expert Dr. David Reiss, MD, will lead two seminars at the Cauliflower Alley Club 2012 Reunion in Las Vegas, NV. Dr. Reiss has shared his expertise in a variety of mental health topics and professional wrestling with media outlets around the world including Associated Press, Reuters, Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, Men’s Health and Elle Canada, as well as many professional wrestling news organizations. On Tuesday, April 17, at 9:00 am in Salon D, Dr. Reiss will be joined by independent pro wrestling star Vance Nevada and promoter Greg Mosorjak in the first seminar of the convention, “Bringing Your Character to Life.” Among many of the subjects to be discussed will be “using the hidden aspects of your own personality to develop a character.” The following day, Wednesday, April 18 at 10am in Salon D, Dr. Reiss and pro wrestler Angelina Altishin (“Little Egypt”) will lead an open, free-wheeling panel discussion on life outside the ring—ranging from dealing with harassment to rabid fans to injuries, life after wrestling, maintaining relationships and more.

Among those confirmed to join Dr. Reiss and Ms. Altishin on the panel are pro wrestling legend “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, former WWE star / actor / stuntman Al Burke and Las Vegas attorney / community leader Lauri Thompson, Esq. Thompson, now a shareholder/attorney with the International law firm GREENBERG TRAURIG and professor of Entertainment Law at the College of Fine Arts at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, is a former dancer, singer, actress and model. She starred as “Suzie Spirit” in the hit television series, G.L.O.W. (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling). Ms. Thompson has worked for numerous charities in Las Vegas, and is currently on the Executive Board for Nevada Ballet Theatre, and Chairman of the Board, for Variety–The Children’s Charity of Southern Nevada. She is also a member of the League of Women Voters and the Nevada Women’s Lobby, and is a member, and Past President, of the American Association of University Women, Las Vegas Branch.

Cauliflower Alley Club (CAC) is a benevolent association, set up for veterans to get together and to provide aid to the younger professional wrestlers. Attendees are a who’s who of every era. Although fans of pro wrestling are welcomed to attend the annual event and festivities, the “Reunion” is NOT a fan fest, but a reunion for those in the professional wrestling industry. WWE, TNA independent promotions—including many from Canada are well-represented, There are awards given, most announced in advance, the exceptions being the top 2 awards, including “future legend,” which will be announced at the banquet). This year, Al Burke, Ricky Steamboat, Bill DeMott, Dan Haggerty (Grizzly Adams), Lisa “Ivory” Moretti, Judy Martin and Wendy Richter are among those receiving awards. There are also several “casual” events including a cribbage tournament and a bowling tournament.

“I always enjoy attending the CAC Reunion, where I have consistently received a very warm welcome from some of the most polite and respectful (and large and imposing) men and women I have ever met. It is a gratifying challenge to apply an understanding of psychology to this world of athleticism and entertainment, which in truth, is closer to Elizabethean productions of Shakespeare than modern MMA. This year, I will be traveling from the CAC Reunion Las Vegas to the American Psychiatric Association Annual Meeting in Philadelphia; I only hope that I can find in Philly an audience that is as receptive to my comments and ideas, and who can teach me as much as these very unique men and women – extremely talented performers who night-after-night, show-after-show, under the most demanding physical conditions, emotionally connect in a powerful manner with their legions of fans from every walk of life who are dealing with the very real struggles and dramas of every-day-life,” said Dr. Reiss
