Independent wrestling star Sami Callihan appears to be close to signing a WWE developmental deal with the company after Big Japan Pro Wrestling released a statement noting that Callihan has been pulled from their tournament later this month due to him signing a WWE deal.

Callihan recently underwent the necessary medical testing prior to signing a developmental deal. His last appearance for the WWE came in a dark match back in October when he lost to Johnny Curtis (aka Fandango).
