New Japan Pro Wrestling announced that former WWE and TNA Wrestling superstar Brian Kendrick will be replacing Davey Richards in their Battle of the Super Juniors Tournament. Richards was scratched from the tournament due to the effects of  a car accident he was involved in last week.

The 18-man, 2 block tournament kicks off on May 27th. As for Richards condition heading into tomorrow night’s ROH Border Wars iPPV where he defends the title against Kevin Steen in Steen’s only World Championship opportunity, Ring of Honor have thus far issued no update on his medical status.
