WWE announced on their official website earlier today that WWE Champion John Cena injured his right achilles tendon on the company’s tour of Europe.

“WWE.com has learned that WWE Champion John Cena sustained an injury during WWE’s European tour. The WWE Champion injured his right Achilles tendon while battling Ryback.”

What that means for the WWE Championship match at Extreme Rules between the two remains to be seen, as the company have not detailed any further on how severe the injury is and how much in-ring time Cena will miss. We’ll be sure to keep you updated.
