‘Beautiful’ Bobby Eaton, one half of The Midnight Express, has passed away at the age of 62, with the news of his passing first announced by his sister.
Eaton, during his professional wrestling career held numerous titles. Eaton was a one-time NWA Georgia Television Champion, a one-time IWC Tag Team Champion with Dennis Condrey, a three-time NWA United States Tag Team Champion with Stan Lane, a three-time NWA/WCW World Tag Team Champion with Dennis Condrey, Stan Lane and Anderson, a one-time WCW World Television Champion, a one-time NWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champion with Rikki Nelson, a four-time AWA Southern Tag Team Champion, twice with Sweet Brown Sugar and twice with Duke Myers, a one-time CWA World Heavyweight Champion, an eleven-time NWA Mid-America Heavyweight Champion, a six-time NWA Mid-America Tag Team Champion, three times with George Gulas and once each with Lanny Poffo, The Mexican Angel and The Great Togo.
Eaton was also a one-time NWA Mid-America Television Champion, a four-time NWA World Six-Man Tag Team Champion, once each with George Gulas & Jerry Barber, George Gulas & Arvil Hutto, George Gulas & The Mexican Angel and Secret Weapon & Tojo Yamamoto. Eaton was a two-time Mid-South Tag Team Champion with Dennis Condrey, a one-time NWA Bluegrass Tag Team Champion with Dennis Condrey, a one-time NWA Rocky Top Tag Team Champion with Dennis Condrey, a one-time SMW Beat The Champ Television Champion and a one-time NWA American Tag Team Champion with Dennis Condrey. Eaton, alongside Stan Lane as part of The Midnight Express, were named Tag Team Of The Year in 1987 by Pro Wrestling Illustrated and was inducted into the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame Class of 2019 as part of The Midnight Express alongside Dennis Condrey and Randy Rose.
