In a bad bit of news for the WWE and for Wade Barrett, the WWE SmackDown superstar underwent surgery on his dislocated elbow earlier this week and unfortunately scans revealed that the injury was far worse than originally diagnosed, this according to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com. The expectation now is that Barrett will return to the ring in 3-4 months time, meaning that pushing through a return at WrestleMania 28 is out of the question.
Meanwhile, Johnson also notes that the injury to Barrett will have a major ripple effect on the WrestleMania 28 card, as there we plans to have a Money in the Bank match at the WrestleMania pay-per-view, with Barrett winning the match, however those plans have since been scrapped.
