The Baja California Attorney General’s office officially confirmed yesterday that Perro Aguayo Jr. fractured three vertebrae in his neck and he went into cardiac arrest on the way to the hospital where after trying to revive him for 90 minutes they pronounced him dead.
The vertebrae in question were the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd and it looked like a combination of two different impacts that couldn’t have been stopped by any doctors. They said that they are still investigating the death and will interview everyone involved in the match and the Box y Lucha Commission members that were there as well as all of the doctors that worked on Perrito.
Distrito Federal Box y Lucha Commission physician Dr. Gustavo Zavelta along with Chariman El Fantasma said that Perrito was examined by their commission two weeks earlier before the AAA taping at Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera and reaffirmed that it seemed like there was nothing the Tijuana doctors could’ve done to have saved his life.
Rey Bucanero told La Aficion yesterday that he has been in contact with Rey Mysterio Jr. and he is very despondent over the whole situation saying that he really doesn’t want to fight again as well as hinting towards retirement. Rey Jr. & Konnan are at WrestleCon and Rey said that he isn’t going to retire.
