WWE announced on their official website earlier this evening that current NXT Women’s Champion Asuka broke her right collarbone during her match against Ember Moon at the WWE NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III event on Saturday night.

The report notes that due to the injury, Asuka is not medically cleared to compete and that no official timetable has been set for her return, stating that the typical recovery time for a broken collarbone is usually 6-8 weeks.

The report features comments from Dr. Jeffrey Westerfield who stated, “During the match, she landed awkwardly from a throw from Ember Moon and was able to complete the match, but had notable pain and discomfort. We performed an initial ultrasound backstage that was highly suspicious of a break that was later confirmed by an X-ray.”
