IMPACT Wrestling have released former World Champion Alberto El Patron from his contract effective immediately, stemming from El Patron no-showing last night’s IMPACT Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground event, as well as a scheduled appearance today, according to a report from PWInsider.com.
The report notes that while one source stated that Patron had claimed to be sick, the word was that El Patron decided upon himself to not appear at the show despite appearing earlier in the day for a press conference to promote the Redemption pay-per-view on April 22nd and that a story that has been shared amongst the IMPACT Wrestling talents today is that IMPACT Wrestling’s Ed Nordholm was staying in the same hotel as El Patron and attempted to check in on him, but was unable to do so, leading to some great concern last night about El Patron’s well-being, to the point that IMPACT Wrestling management considered calling local police to make a wellness check on him.
An official statement is due soon from IMPACT Wrestling.
