Former APWA Heavyweight Champion Johnny “Iceman” Sabin, who quit in December 2011 after losing the championship to El Mascarado Mexicano, claimed several days ago that he was threatened with a lawsuit by APWA management if he does not return to ring action immediately. APWA owner Ananzi confirmed the rumours, and due to contract stipulations, Sabin has to return to APWA competition by 1 April at the latest. This spurred a heated argument between Sabin and Ananzi, and “The Iceman” has, in response, threatened to kick Ananzi’s head in. Sabin, however, appeared to have a strong change of mind recently: “Ananzi, file the lawsuit…. Just remember there is an injury clause that states that once a competitor is injured, and the injury is of such a nature that he/she can not compete, the competitor may not wrestle. And unfortunately I have a separated shoulder, and a fracture wrist”. How will Ananzi respond to this? When Ananzi makes his own return on 1 April at the Danie van Zyl Recreation Centre, will he be confronted by one of his greatest, most offensive rivals from the past? The last time “The Iceman” met Ananzi one-on-one for the All-Africa Heavyweight Title, it was an unforgettable encounter – despite Sabin getting bloodied, he gave Ananzi a run for his money. Are we about to see another Sabin VS Ananzi face-off soon?

But right now, Ananzi has his focus elsewhere, for he will meet another past rival, Terri Middoux, on 1 April in a match that is one year in the making. The history between Ananzi and Terri Middoux goes back all the way to 2008, but after Ananzi retired last year, he was briefly coerced out of it in October when Terri Middoux launched an unprecedented attack on the former WWP All-Africa Champion, in which he brutalised and bloodied his former rival with the trademark spike in front of thousands of fans at the Rhino Rally. The challenge has been accepted. Ananzi VS Terri Middoux will be a collision of epic proportions – South Africa VS France, as Two Worlds Collide on 1 April!
