During a press conference today, TNA Wrestling and Bellator Fighting Championship announced that former StrikeForce Light Heavyweight Champion, Muhammad “King Mo” Lawal had signed a dual contract with both companies, in conjunction with Spike TV.
Lawal will be joining TNA Wrestling this summer and according to those I’ve spoken to the video from today will air on tonight’s episode of TNA Impact Wrestling on Spike TV, with Lawal joining Bellator in 2013 when the company moves to Spike TV. At the press conference Dixie Carter put over Lawal’s skills as a wrestler and noted that he’s excited to be joining the promotion, while Lawal noted that it was a dream come true, going on to say that inside the cage he’ll be fighting, where as inside the ring, he’s beating people up with chairs included.
Lawal then went on to state that he had a WWE tryout in the past and enjoyed working with several names, however before he even steps inside a TNA Wrestling ring, he’ll be heading to Ohio Valley Wrestling and training there, but he hasn’t been given a start date as of writing and hasn’t even thought of a finishing move for his debut match. Lawal said that he’s happy to be the first of potentially more signings or cross promotion between TNA Wrestling and Bellator and that his knee is doing well, as Dixie stated that the company’s main priority before Lawal debuts is to have him 100% healthy.
