In an update on the return of former ECW owner and WWE SmackDown General Manager to the WWE as seen on last night’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW, a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com notes that Heyman will be appearing on a semi-regular basis with the company up to the WWE Summerslam pay-per-view at the least as part of the storyline regarding Brock Lesnar “quitting the company”. Heyman will be appearing on WWE television in place of Lesnar building to WWE Summerslam as Lesnar has only signed for a limited number of television dates and has already used a good few since his return the night after the WWE WrestleMania XXVIII pay-per-view.
The report notes that one idea from WWE creative was to have Brock Lesnar re-create the legal battle between himself and the company and in storyline, go out and sue the company for money owed and a breach of contract leading to a huge viral campaign to get the storyline over to people as a legitimate issue between both sides.
Heyman’s deal with the company only came together over the past week as the original plans for Lesnar’s return to the WWE did not include Heyman, who has been busy working on his Looking For Larry Productions, as well as raising his children and continuing his work on his ultra-popular Heyman Hustle website. He’s not expected on the road on a full-time basis as noted above and is only involved in the storyline regarding Lesnar and not the overall creative process. Outside working with Lesnar, Heyman also made the decision to return to potentially work with CM Punk (whose DVD he will be appearing on) down the line, as the two of them respect one another and although they have worked together in the past, they have never done anything on camera.
Meanwhile, WWE have several videos reminding fans of who Paul Heyman is, his return last night and a post-RAW speech
