In an update on Brandi Rhodes requesting her release from Global Force Wrestling within the past several days, a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that Brandi asked for her release because she got a job with a non-wrestling television company in Atlanta, Georgia and Global Force Wrestling are reported to have requested 10% of her earnings from that job.

For those unfamiliar of why Global Force Wrestling made the request, this is due to new changes that the company have instated into the contracts of their talents, including them getting a percentage of whatever independent bookings that their performers take outside of Global Force Wrestling and is said to include any sort of television outside of Global Force Wrestling, even if it is not wrestling-related.

Brandi will now continue to appear for Ring of Honor Wrestling and other independent wrestling promotions.
