In an update on the first-time ever match between John Cena and Shinsuke Nakamura on tonight’s WWE SmackDown Live broadcast on the USA Network, it would appear that the “King of Strong Style” will be the one moving on to face Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship at WWE SummerSlam on August 20th, based on John Cena’s status with the WWE after the SummerSlam pay-per-view.

Cena, who is currently billed as a free agent, allowing him to appear on both RAW and SmackDown Live, will stop working SmackDown televised events with the WWE SummerSlam go-home show on Tuesday, August 15th and after that, he is only scheduled for RAW tapings and RAW pay-per-view events, including his appearance at the WWE No Mercy pay-per-view on Sunday, September 24th in Los Angeles, California.
