As seen on tonight’s WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view following his victory over Brock Lesnar, former WWE Champion John Cena took the mic and announced that if he has to go on vacation because of tonight’s match or if he gets sent home to heal, he’s glad that it was in Chicago.

Cena noted that he was busted open hard, couldn’t use his left arm and stated that they were supposed to give fans the extreme tonight and every wrestler on the card gave Chicago their all.

The reality of why this promo closed the show is that Cena has been dealing with some neck and back trouble and was allowed time to heal his nagging injuries. The expectation is that Cena will miss approximately 6-8 weeks of action.
