Highlights:
– Vince McMahon commented on the company’s current state and guaranteed that a year from now the company would be in a way better shape than what is currently is and that here is two reasons for the business faltering right now, the film department and negotiations in regards to TV licensing and noted that by choice, the company decided to keep two hours off TV with WWE NXT and WWE Superstars and claimed that ratings are up 3% for WWE RAW and up 15% for WWE SmackDown. Vince briefly touched on the stock price and said that if he had the money, which he does to be fair, he would buy shares at that price and said that the stock price is down due to the uncertainty of the WWE Network.
– WWE’s Chief Financial Officer George Barrios backed up Vince’s comments noting that 95% of what was wrong in the past year was the film division and negotiations in regards to TV licensing deals and that the film division would be changing from its current situation.
– Vince was asked about the launch of the WWE Network and how Oprah Winfrey’s network bombed, to which Vince noted that Oprah didn’t put her own show on her own network and said that no one would care about her network if her show wasn’t there and that the launch date for the WWE Network was delayed due to the mistakes of Oprah and not wanting to follow her footsteps and noted that he is hopeful of a launch towards the end of the year and said that most likely, this will mean that WWE Classics on Demand will be dropped. Vince stated that with PPV events moving to the network, that may or may not happen.
– Vince was then asked about backing off PG programming, to which he responded that it won’t happen. He was then asked about moving WrestleMania to free television, due to the comparisons with the SuperBowl and how the company could make money through ad revenue, however he shot down the notion, as he should by right, stating that it would make no sense to the WWE’s bottom line to do that, as they just came off their most successful money-making WrestleMania in company history and noted that the SuperBowl would move to pay-per-view if they had the chance to do so.
– In regards to a replacement for Randy Orton in The Marine 3: Homefront, the company announced that a replacement will be made soon as production begins in June and that an announcement in regards to their developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling and plans which they noted on their website will be made in a big announcement very soon.
