In speaking to the Japanese media earlier this week, WWE Cruiserweight Classic competitor Kota Ibushi noted that he has turned down a full-time contract offer from the WWE and noted that he may continue wrestling in the WWE, on a per-spot basis and that his dream is to become the most famous wrestler in the world and that he wants to continue wrestling in Japan.
Triple H was pressed about Ibushi’s status with the company during the NXT Takeover: Back II Brooklyn conference call earlier today and noted that the company are open to working with Ibushi on a per-spot deal like they had done with Jushin Thunder Liger and others that appear at Full Sail University, but noted that the mindset of the Cruiserweights he wants to see on RAW as part of the new Cruiserweight Division is to have them all signed as exclusive WWE superstars, which may explain the recent trademark for Gran Metalik which we reported on earlier today.
