Speaking through his Twitter account, ESPN’s Gus Ramsey noted that the WWE WrestleMania XXVIII pay-per-view this past Sunday night, which featured The Rock vs. John Cena in the main event, as well as The Undertaker vs. Triple H in a Hell in a Cell match with Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee, did almost close to the 2 million pay-per-view buyrate, which will no doubt be absolutely brilliant news to the WWE after a busy weekend which also saw the return of Brock Lesnar to the company.

“Rock and Brock each sign 1 year deals. WM28 did 1.9M buys. WWE was targeting 1.5M. Rock has 5 films in pre-prodction according to IMDB, so you have to wonder how much he’ll be around.”
