In promotional appearances over the weekend in Puerto Rico, former WWE Champion, Alberto del Rio claimed that he would not be performing at WrestleMania XXVIII. Del Rio claimed that originally, there was plans for him to face off against Randy Orton at the pay-per-view and then for him to be a member of Team Laurinaitis in the 12-man tag team match at the pay-per-view, however he’s no longer in those plans.

As of writing, there is one spot remaining on Team Long and Team Laurinaitis, with Rey Mysterio and Alberto del Rio expected to fill those spots respectively. Del Rio teamed up with Ricardo Rodriguez at last night’s WWE house show event in San Juan, Puerto Rico in a triple threat match for the WWE Tag Team Championships against Epico and Primo and the team of Zack Ryder and Mason Ryan, where Epico and Primo retained the titles.
