Ring of Honor CEO Joe Koff was reportedly to have been very angry at a wrestler’s court meeting taking place backstage at the September 19th TV tapings telling talents to never do it again as they should be focusing on their performances and not wrestler’s court, this according to a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
For those unfamiliar, wrestler’s court is something that used to be done from time to time in the past and is a way of talent holding court for other talents who are accused of doing something wrong and if the talent is found guilty, then the punishment typically involves the guilty party picking up everyone’s bar tab or something along those lines, however the “judge” can always be bought, which results in the party not having anything on “their record”.
The report notes that backstage at the TV tapings, the “case” involved referee Gino Colucci, with BJ Whitmer as the “judge” and Michael Elgin as the “defense” and that Colucci ended up being “cleared of his charges”.
