In an update on WWE’s decision to shut down Florida Championship Wrestling, what we can confirm right now is that the series will be coming to an end on April 15th, 2012 on the Bright House Sports Network and that there has been discussions of moving the promotion to Orlando or elsewhere in Florida itself and moving the TV show to another market.

While there was initally a feeling that the company could pull their developmental territory out of Florida and bring it to Stamford, Connecticut that doesn’t seem the case and although it could happen, daily operations at Florida Championship Wrestling were the same as usual yesterday and no announcement was made to the staff or to the developmental wrestlers about a potential move out of Florida.

There were tons of people I’ve spoken to over the night, both fans and those within the company that were shocked if WWE decided to move sticks before WrestleMania, however as mentioned above, nothing has been said to the developmental stars and staff about this matter.

A lot of people have been asking me if the release of Ty Bailey could factor in to WWE’s decision to move to Stamford, Connecticut. While it would be closer to home and allow them to produce the show for the WWE Network or any other channel or network, and while Bailey headed up the developmental system, Vince McMahon was of the belief that several of the FCW stars that were signed over the years shouldn’t have been in the developmental territory in the first place, hence the massive cuts and a massive overhaul of the talent they now have at their disposal.

Currently all we can confirm is that the TV series on the Bright House Sports Network is coming to an end. All FCW events booked for this week and up to April 15th are going ahead as scheduled. There are no plans to do away with Florida Championship Wrestling as it is right now and move to a location outside Florida, however the company’s affiliation with the Bright House Sports Network is coming to an end. Training at Florida Championship Wrestling’s facilities in Tampa, Florida are ongoing as scheduled today and talent have been told that there is nothing to fear in regards to any events that are booked and everything that is out there right now regarding the matter.
