In an interview with Cleveland.com to promote last night’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW, The Rock commented on his WrestleMania XXVIII feud with John Cena and how it is more personable than his WrestleMania X8 match against Hulk Hogan.

The Rock noted that coming back to the WWE, he felt like he needed something real to sink his teeth into as a performer and that was very real, noting that whatever John Cena had said in the past publicly, 3 or 4 years ago, he always remembered it and that gave the two of them a nice launching point. The Rock noted that the feud is not personal as he doesn’t personally hate John and doesn’t hate anybody, but the tension is real and he likes it and thinks it plays well into what he and Cena are doing at WrestleMania XXVIII and the fans can feel it. Rock stated that he doesn’t have to or want to be your friend, but when he gets out to the ring, it’s about entertaining the people with you. The Rock also stated that he’s come close a couple of times to slapping the lips off John Cena’s face, however it’s okay and he can reassure people that Cena’s lips are safe where they are now.
