Wrestling fans around the world have been buzzing since the announcement that New Japan Pro Wrestling talent will be appearing on Four Ring of Honor shows in May of this year. The first two nights in will be “War of The Worlds” and will take place Tuesday May 12th and Wednesday May 13th, 2015 at the legendary 2300 Arena deep in the heart of South Philadelphia Pa. The May 13th show is SOLD OUT but there are still tickets available for the May 12th event. The 3rd and 4th nights will be “Global Wars” on Friday, May 15th and Saturday, May 16th at the historic Ted Reeve Arena in Toronto, Canada. Tickets are still available for both nights in Toronto but they are going fast! New Japan Pro Wrestling will be represented by their very finest at these massive events. The next confirmed NJPW Superstar is: Jushin “Thunder” Liger
Arguably the most famous and well known Japanese wrestler of all time, Jushin ”Thunder” Liger, is returning to Ring of Honor as part of these historic events. Liger has an amazing track record across the world and within Ring of Honor. He has faced and defeated some of the greats in ROH history including Bryan Danielson and Lowki. More recently he engaged in tremendous battles with former ROH World Champion Adam Cole and recently gave ROH World Television Champion Jay Lethal everything he could handle.
Liger is a world renowned superstar having competed in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Stampede Wrestling, and World Championship Wrestling. His accomplishments in New Japan are second to none. Liger is a former 11 time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and a 6 time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion. He’s also won numerous championships in Mexico, Europe and the United States, including the WCW Light Heavyweight Championship.
Aside from his championships Liger has been acknowledged across numerous platforms for being one of the top wrestlers in the world throughout his career. He was named by multiple outlets as a former rookie of the year, match of the year, and most outstanding wrestler award winner. With his rich history, he would be a dream opponent for anyone on the ROH roster.
