Former WWE United States Champion and current WWE Monday Night RAW superstar Zack Ryder was a guest on Sky Sports News today hosted by Simon Thomas and Kirsty Gallacher. The interview was meant to be a lot longer, however due to a story regarding Glasgow Rangers and their current finances, with administrators pushing through a quick sale of the club, the time of the interview was shortened.

Ryder done the fist pump before being asked about his injury and noted that he was in a neck brace and a back brace and that things are getting better. Ryder noted that the process to recovery is taking longer than expected and that he’s hoping to appear on WrestleMania 28 in a few weeks, which he stated could be the biggest WrestleMania ever while putting over the John Cena vs. The Rock match. Ryder noted that he’s never had a WrestleMania match and is hoping that this year will be his first.

The presenters then showcased a video of Ryder before the presenters asked him who he thought would win between John Cena and The Rock, to which he seemed to indicate that he wants Cena to win. Simon then asked if he and Eve are an item to which Zack responded that he didn’t know but she stated that she was using him all along before the drama with Cena however kissed him on Monday’s RAW. Zack was then asked for any tips to get into the business and stated that people need to make sure that it’s something they want to do 100% and that they need to find a good trainer and a good place to dedicate yourself.

Ryder was asked what effect Edge had on his career to which he responded that Edge was someone he grew up watching and idolising and then talked about being an Edgehead and how he called him “Uncle Adam” and said that he hoped that he got a chance to face Edge during his WWE career and unfortunately didn’t and said that Edge deserves his WWE Hall of Fame induction. Ryder then done his trademark “Woo, Woo, Woo, You Know It” catchphrase and talked about how it took off with the Ryder revolution. Zack was then asked who was his favourite WWE superstar growing up and responded that it was Hulk Hogan and as he got older it was Shawn Michaels, Edge, Chris Jericho, Christian and more.

Ryder was then asked if holding WrestleMania in the United Kingdom or any future WWE pay-per-view for that matter would help to boost the popularity more and responded that it’s great to come to the UK and said that the company is huge everywhere. Ryder was then asked that if he could face off against anyone who would it be and said Edge as it would be a teacher vs. student type of match and said besides Edge he would love to face off against Stone Cold Steve Austin. Ryder then said that British wrestlers should embrace YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and all forms of social media in order to get recognized by American promotions including WWE and talked about how he went from nothing in the WWE to a household name in 55 weeks and counting including a run as WWE United States Champion.

Ryder was asked as a fan what was his favourite WrestleMania match and responded with HBK vs. Razor Ramon in a Ladder Match at WrestleMania 10 and it was one of the greatest matches he’s ever seen. Ryder then noted that he’d never consider going back to his long-haired style look and said the long hair didn’t work for him and said that he’s in the UK for two more days before he heads to Germany to promote the WrestleMania Revenge Tour before wrapping up the interview.
