WWE changed around the plans for this year’s WWE Fast Lane pay-per-view following the fan reaction at the 2015 WWE Royal Rumble, as the original plans were for Roman Reigns to face a top heel, possibly The Big Show, while Daniel Bryan would have faced Bray Wyatt, according to a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The report notes that the above plan was changed and as seen on WWE RAW, the company went ahead with a stronger card which will see Daniel Bryan face off against Roman Reigns in the main event of the pay-per-view, with the winner facing Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
For those wondering, as things stand, it is expected that Reigns will go over Bryan and move on to WrestleMania to face Lesnar. WWE’s marketing department have been told that is the current main event as of this week and have been told to feature Reigns the heaviest in the promotional material for WrestleMania 31, followed by Lesnar and the rest of the card.
