Speaking to TMZ.com, former NBA star Dennis Rodman noted that his unofficial ambassadorial role with North Korea is still going and that he now plans on bringing professional wrestling to the country, noting that Kim Jong-un has expressed an interest in having professional wrestling in the country, however it is unknown as to whether that would be a one-time deal with a wrestling company bringing their show to the country or if there are plans to launch a professional wrestling company based in North Korea.
While New Japan Pro Wrestling have toured North Korea in recent years, possibly the biggest event held in North Korea was a World Championship Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling co-produced pay-per-view event that took place over two days in Pyongyang, North Korea in 1995 and drew over 160,000 people.
