WWE have signed Irish female wrestler Rebecca Knox to a 2-year developmental deal with the company, according to a report from The Herald in Ireland.
Knox, real name Rebecca Quin, returned to the wrestling scene in October of 2012 after retiring from in-ring competition in 2008. Knox retired at the time feeling that wrestling was not a viable career option for her.
A SHIMMER alum and former World Queens of Chaos champion, Knox is hoping to make the most of the opportunity that has been presented to her. “I want to make the most of this opportunity. Sheamus has shown that Irish pro-wrestlers can go all the way to the top,” she told The Herald.
Following on from Joey “Omen” Cabray and Rachel “Rachelle St. Claire” Walker, Knox becomes the third Irish wrestler to be signed to a WWE developmental contract in recent months. Exciting times are on the horizon for Irish based performers.
